It’s finally happening; TJ Hunt is taking delivery of his Bayside Blue R34 GT-R. Well, not many car buffs can have a good night’s sleep knowing their 90s JDM is sitting somewhere thousands of miles away on a different continent. That’s been a reality for the automotive YouTuber for nearly two years. On a recent upload, he traveled to Japan to spend time with his two iconic JDM rides – a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R and a Toyota Chaser JZX 100 Mk II.
“I went to Toprank because I was going to see my R34 Bayside Blue, which I haven’t seen in quite a bit. This is the car that I keep here to always drive, so I always have a car,” Hunt said.
TJ Hunt gets most of his JDM imports through a friend at Toprank in Japan. Toprank is a prominent international auto dealer based in Japan that mainly deals with Japanese imports.
Well, if TJ Hunt is going to be in Japan, and there’s a Toyota Chaser and the iconic mountain passes of Japan, one thing is for sure – there’s going to be some drifting.
Hunt’s Toyota Chaser JZX Mk II runs on a 1JZ on a stock turbo. According to the Youtuber, this rig makes 300 hp.
After checking out his Bayside Blue Nissan R34 GT-R, Hunt immediately went into business with the Chaser JSX. He and a couple of friends based in Japan hit the mountain passes with some amazing drifts.
TJ Hunt was also in Japan to participate in the annual G1GP drifting competition. He didn’t do well the last time he participated, and after the competition, he finished 8th, an improvement from the previous time. And better yet, he won some stuff.
His friend Grant got third place – a great consolation for Hunt.
After the G1GP drifting competition, he and a couple of friends went out for more drifting fun. We’ll let you enjoy more of that in the video below.
