Getting into a fender bender mid-week is one thing. However, getting your rig scuffed on one occasion, followed by a minor accident less than five days later, and if that’s not enough, having your less than a month’s old Mercedes get into a fender bender two days later is more than bad luck – it’s a jinx.
The social media personality is not enjoying his new month despite adding a Mercedes-Benz GLE 350d to his collection early last month. Two weeks ago, he was kicked out of a historical protest by Gen-Zs, who felt his theatrics had no place in their march for freedom.
Earlier this week, the same Audi TTRS was involved in a minor accident with a motorbike. It was nothing serious, and fortunately, according to the Kenyan Prince, he wasn’t behind the wheel at the time of the unfortunate incident.
That’s not all. A day later, his newly acquired Mercedes-Benz GLE 350d got into a fender bender. We are not sure of the complexities surrounding the minor accident, but according to a post on his Instagram page, the rear right wheel and hub were missing.
“Guys, ni Uchawi. Ni maswara hii. Yesterday, after getting into the Audi accident, I was involved in an accident in my Mercedes,” he lamented in an Instagram Reel.
In Mercedes terms, that’s a minor repair, but for my fellow JDM fanboys, the potential repairs for fixing the entire right rear wheel assembly could cost an arm and a leg. Let’s just say he could spend as much as Alex Mwanzo spent on his Golf GTI’s powertrain assembly.
From the video, the rear wheel assembly seems to have been yanked out after the impact, possibly from driving into a curb. As a result, he’s looking to replace the rear wheel and tires, brake lines, disc assembly, and sensors (ABS, etc.).
Also, since it is a ‘German Machine,’ recalibrating the brake lines won’t involve the usual backyard mechanic methods of pumping the brake pedal. Modern vehicles like the Mercedes GLE require a software fix and a special tool to clear the air trapped inside the brake lines.
Let’s hope everything goes well with the repairs and that this will be the last of his worries. After getting into a bit of a scuffle with another social media personality last month, Kenyan Prince has endured a rollercoaster of events.
