The crossover and SUV segment is getting bigger and better, and an overlooked participant is the 2025 GMC Terrain. The redesigned compact crossover packs features that’ll reel in potential buyers in its segment. And better yet, GMC got rid of the horrid shifter button. It’s safe to say the current generation of car buyers isn’t ready to operate their vehicle like an FM radio.
First impressions on the 2025 GMC Terrain, and you’ll notice it looks like a truck – but it’s not. It’s among the many contenders in the much-contested compact SUV segment. And this time, it might get the much-intended audience the General Motors division yearns for.
TFLnow on YouTube did a walkaround review of this truck-like premium compact crossover, and we believe it’s a contender that should get more eyeballs.
For starters, the 2025 Terrain is in its third generation and is expected to get into the market later this year for the 2025 model year.
As you’ve already noted, the 2025 GMC Terrain features a box-shape design reminiscent of its first-generation predecessor. This design further improves the vehicle’s rugged nature, which is a plus for potential buyers in this segment.
The base model, the Elevation trim, features a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 175 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. This torquey engine is mated to a new eight-speed transmission on an all-wheel-drive platform. Better yet, the Terrain dropped its push-button shifter.
On the interior, the 2025 GMC Terrain comes with a ton of awesome features, including heated steering and front seats and adaptive cruise control. You also get a 15-inch infotainment system (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) with built-in Google software.
It also features an 11-inch digital cluster gauge that features configurable settings.
Below, the 2025 GMC Terrain (Elevation) features 17-inch wheels, and the Black Edition package offers 19-inch wheels.
While the 2025 GMC Terrain has not yet been released, it is expected to retail in the market for between $35,000 and $40,0000.
